Last Meeting Until Fall on June 3

The last regular LifeGroup meeting until the fall is Sunday, June 3, at 5:30 p.m. in the church parlor.

Ben Jordan, a retired pastor who is a member of our church, has led the group in a series of short and informative Bible lessons. This time we will be talking about life after death. We were asked to read Mark Chapter 13 and 1st Corinthians Chapters 13 and 15 in the Bible. We also were challenged to look in the Concordance of our Bible to see the numerous references to Heaven and read a few of the verses related to Heaven.

Ben has been a pastor since 1945, including 51 of those years actively preaching in various Methodist churches around Arkansas.

He served as the Senior Pastor for NLR First United Methodist Church from 1979-1984 and in retirement is an active member of our church.

TRIVIA TIDBIT: Our new Senior Pastor, Guy Whitney, who starts on July 1, was Ben's associate pastor at NLR FUMC in 1980.

Summer Summer Summer Time

The LifeGroup may be taking the summer off from regular meetings, but that doesn't mean we won't be getting together.

In July, we are planning a family outting to the new Dickey-Stephens ballpark to see the Arkansas Travelers.

In August, we are planning a swim party at the Splash Zone in Jacksonville.
